Semi-Formal Pathway

Within this learning pathway, we use a thematic curriculum where each term is organised around a different theme. When it makes sense, subjects are linked to the term’s theme so that learning feels connected and meaningful. Most of the curriculum is based on early National Curriculum content. Alongside this, lessons are also designed to help children develop positive learning behaviours, communication and interaction skills, reasoning and problem‑solving abilities, and important everyday life skills. We also believe learning should feel real and exciting. To support this, children will regularly take part in enrichment opportunities such as visits from guest speakers, hands‑on experiences, educational trips, and activities within the local community.
