- Parents will be contracted by newsletter, class dojo or by staff individually to request support or offer opportunities to get involved.

- Support with fundraising events.
- Termly events and/or stay and play sessions are held each term and parents are invited to participate and/or celebrate their child’s successes.

How will Medeshamstede Academy support parents, including helping them contribute to their child’s learning?

- Termly coffee mornings or afternoons where visiting speakers are invited to explore a specific area of support, e.g. sleep clinic. Additionally, events may focus on supporting specific areas of learning, e.g. supporting reading.
- Parents are encouraged to support their child reading at home.
- Parents are encouraged to support their child to develop life skills at home, e.g. baking and/or shopping.
- Parents are encouraged to support their child to develop skills against individual EHC Plan targets.
- Termly events and/or stay and play sessions are held each term and parents are invited. Such events help parents gain a greater understanding of their child’s learning and how to support progress.
- The academy has a dedicated Family Support Worker who is able to work closely with the whole family as necessary.

How will Medeshamstede Academy review and update the parental engagement strategy?

The strategy will be reviewed and updated annually and discussed with the Academy’s Parent Ambassadors.
